American Job Center At NHCC
In February 2016, Workforce Alliance in partnership with the City of New Haven opened the first American Job Center within a jail in Connecticut at the New Haven Correctional Center on Whalley Avenue. The Center will help 175 inmates before they re-enter society with skills, resumes, identification and in many cases a job when they get out.
The Center has been recognized as a model for pre-release work readiness by CT Governor Dannell Malloy and former U.S. Labor Secretary Tom Perez.
Wage subsidies and On-the-Job training grants available to hire participants.
