Training Options
In addition to employee searches, we offer a variety of education and training options, including wage subsidies up to 50% for on the job training. Our business services team cares about who you hire, and frequently is able to provide ongoing support services after placement.

Industry Specific Training
The Workforce Alliance supports industry-specific training projects featuring strong employer involvement in the design and the content of the curriculum. If you need our assistance in preparing a sector of the workforce - your employees or new hires - for a specific industry, we will assess the situation, identify and convene the relevant partners, and go to work.

Workforce Alliance Partners for Training Projects:

Healthcare Training
Workforce Alliance, in partnership with healthcare providers, the community college and trade associations, offers training to upgrade the skills of existing healthcare workers. Trainees are promoted into new positions, and entry-level positions are opened for new hires.

Construction Workforce
The need for qualified workers in the construction field creates an ongoing demand for qualified workers. Working with our business and public partners, we can match people who are interested in jobs in the construction field with available openings with area contractors. Workforce Alliance screens candidates and provides pre-employment skills development, while the trade associations provide apprenticeship training.

Manufacturing Career Training
Working with area manufacturers Workforce Alliance can offer a program which integrates academic, technical and employability skills training, enhanced by internships in local manufacturing companies. Graduates are immediately employed in full time jobs as machine operators, assemblers and inspectors.

Manufacturing Jobs Have a Big Future
Through the year 2012, the U.S. Department of Labor estimates that manufacturers will have 2 million job openings in computer science, mathematics, engineering, and physical science; and, an additional 2.4 million job openings in skilled production jobs such as machinists, machine assemblers, operators and technicians. The problem is the number of qualified workers to fill all of these openings.

A large majority of manufacturing executives (74% in a National Association of Manufacturer’s survey) say that a high performance workforce is the most important factor in the business’ future success. A similarly large number of manufacturers also report that they are already having difficulty finding trained, or even trainable, workers.

On-the-Job Training
Workforce Alliance can reimburse qualified employers up to 50% of the wages paid to workers being trained on-the-job, helping to offset training costs. We support theoretical instruction, certification of licensing-ready employees, or even the development of training standards. We encourage the success of every trainee by tracking the candidate's progress during and after the training period.
